I have lived in Tonbridge all my life, and still live in the house where I was born, which I now share with my husband Larry and two boys; Olly and Sam . We also have a crazy fox red labrador named Gwen .
My career started at the age of 16 with an apprenticeship in hairdressing which I had to leave due to a skin condition caused by the chemicals. I worked in shop until I had passed my typing exams, then worked as a secretary until I became a full-time mum to Olly in 1994 and Sam in 1996.
When the boys were very young, my husband became a bee keeper, I was fascinated by this and began to make natural products such as soap, creams and lip balms using the beeswax and honey from their harvest. There was something so appealing about this, knowing that the ingredients I was using wouldn’t harm my children’s delicate skin. As time went on I wanted to improve my knowledge so that I could use essential oils in my products to enhance their healing properties. More research and practicing were to come, I loved every minute of it and could talk about it for hours.
I went back to work as a secretary when my youngest son Sam started school, but my passion for knowledge of natural products and holistic therapies was still at the forefront of my mind.
I still wanted to, one day, provide therapies and make my own products, so the learning and research continued. I’ve since gained qualifications in
° Anatomy & Physiology
° Swedish Body Massage, and various other massage techniques.
° Reflexology,
° Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting.
I enjoy attending courses and workshops on a regular basis to improve my knowledge and techniques, so my clients get the best possible experience, I also get to meet other therapists and like-minded people where we can swap ideas and share techniques.
In addition to the therapies, I make a unique range of products using natural bases and Katseye Blends, a range of high quality blends of pure essential oils which have been developed over more than 30 years of clinical practice. Each blend has been developed to achieve the most therapeutic effect in treating a whole range of health and wellbeing issues. I thoroughly enjoy designing and making products for myself, my family and clients, each person is so unique, I tailor my products to suit their needs both therapeutically and emotionally.
Last year I qualified as a clinical essential oils practitioner. It was a lot of hard work but was so worth it.
In my spare time, you might see me walking with my trusty companion Gwen around our favourite place Haysden Country Park. I find it gives me such a great start to the day, even when it’s raining.
I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I love going for long walks and now the boys are grown up we have more opportunities to do this.
Last year we walked the three peaks (not in 24 hours!) it was an amazing experience and we picked the best week to do it too, the weather was fantastic and we had a clear view at the top of each peak.
